Amy Coe

CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA

Ms. Amy Coe is the Assistant Dean of Academics at Army and Navy Academy in Carlsbad, California. Ms. Coe taught Chemistry at the Academy for more than 17 years before moving to administration. Ms. Coe earned her B.S. in Chemistry, Single Subject Teaching Credential, and M.A. in Education Administration from the California State University at San Marcos (CSUSM).

In addition to teaching at the Academy, she has been an Adjunct Professor at CSUSM since 2005. In this role, she has helped future teachers strengthen their science content knowledge as the instructor for Physical Science for Future Elementary School Teachers for the last 10 years.

Ms. Coe was born in Encinitas, CA. and has lived in Southern California her entire life. She has embraced the mission of the Army and Navy Academy and has devoted her career to delivering excellence in science education. She helped co-author the Faculty Mentoring Program and has championed the introduction and implementation of Gurian teaching methods and practices and been asked to speak about their efficacy at annual conferences.
