Dr. Tremaine Canteen

FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA

Dr. Tremaine Canteen is the Principal of The Capitol Encore Academy in Fayetteville, North Carolina. With over 16 years of experience in education, she has served as a classroom teacher, services coordinator, athletic director, assistant principal, and principal. Dr. Canteen has worked diligently over the past 16 years to decrease the high school dropout rate, enhance the educational experience for male students, and to ensure equal educational opportunities are afforded to at-risk students. As a staple in education, Dr. Canteen was selected to serve as the Teacher of the Year in 2007 and 2012. In 2017, she served as Cumberland County Schools’ Assistant Principal of the Year. Dr. Canteen believes that education is still the great equalizer.
