Dr. Toyin Atolagbe is currently the Headmaster of Archway Lincoln Classical Academy – Great Hearts Academy (GHA). She joined GHA in June 2011 as a second grade teacher at Archway Trivium. In the summer of 2014, She moved to Archway Arete Classical academy and continued as a second grade Lead and Dean of Academics. By the summer of 2015, she transitioned into a full-time administrative role as Dean of Academics and Literacy coordinator at Arete. In 2016, she joined the first Headmaster College class for GHA and began her journey as Headmaster- in-training at Archway Lincoln in the summer of 2016. Then she became the Headmaster in 2017 and has remained in that role since then. Driven by her genuine love for children, she takes pride in cultivating her students’ minds and hearts through the pursuit of Truth, Goodness, and Beauty.
As a young girl growing up in Nigeria, she spent most of her teenage years volunteering at her Aunt’s elementary school and helping her mom, an elementary school teacher, in her classroom. Dr. Atolagbe’s teaching experience dates back to 2012 in Belize, Central America, where she helped pilot a USAID program to improve literacy in Belize in Elementary schools. She also taught in the College of Education at the prestigious St. John’s College Junior College. Since then, she has spent the last twenty years working with children and training teachers. As an English language learner, her passion for developing literacy skills through reading is evident in her career experiences. Dr. Atolagbe is currently the Co-Founder and Director of Operations at Agape Foundation School. A classical school now created for underprivileged children in Ilorin, Nigeria.
Dr. Atolagbe’s educational background has been instrumental to her passionate commitment to education. She has a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and English Literature, with minors in Linguistics, History, Philosophy, and French from the University of Ilorin, Nigeria. In 2008, she completed her Master’s degree in education, with a concentration in Early Literacy Development, from the University of Lethbridge, Canada. As she progressed in administrative leadership, In 2018, she graduated with a Doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership with an Emphasis on Organizational Development from Grand Canyon University. Dr. Atolagbe has an insatiable appetite for educational training and has facilitated training for teachers, administrators, and parents in promoting habits of excellence in children, Growth Mindset, and Mental Health of School-age Children, to mention a few. As a result of her love for supporting parents and caregivers, Dr. Atolagbe launched Lighthouse Consulting Group in October 2022 to provide training, coaching, and consulting services for parents, teachers, administrators, and caregivers that need her support.
