Gloria Sherman

Gloria’s passion is to equip parents, educators and service providers with tools to assist them with what she believe is their most important job: raising respectful and responsible children.  Her interest in brain development and its contributing factors to behavioral patterns in pre-school, school age and adolescent children has led her to focus her skills to address these issues.

Gloria’s work experience shows her total immersion in families and children.  She began her career in child welfare with the Michigan Department of Human Services.  For the last 15 years she has worked as a middle school counselor.  Gloria is co-founder of Parenting Partnership which provides ongoing parenting classes.  She also founded her own business Parenting and Teaching with G.L.O, LLC.  The focus of this business is on coaching parents and presenting educational workshops. Gloria has presented at numerous local, state and national conferences.

Gloria is a Licensed Professional Counselor through the State of Michigan.  She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science Education from Michigan State University, a Master’s Degree in School Counseling from Eastern Michigan University, and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Saginaw Valley State University.  Gloria is an experienced trainer of many national parenting and school-based programs.  She recently completed her certification as an independent trainer from the Gurian Institute. She looks forward to presenting on Boys and Girls Learn Differently.

Gloria has three adult children and eight grandchildren.  Yes, she practices what she preaches and definitely utilizes her knowledge with her grandchildren to help her continually develop and maintain strong and lasting relationships.
