Kimberly Dunn joined the San Antonio Academy (SAA) team as its new Associate Head of School in June 2019. Kimberly is a highly qualified and experienced independent school administrator and teacher, who came to SAA from Saint Francis Episcopal School in Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Dunn’s role as the Associate Head of School, in collaboration with the Head of School, ensures that San Antonio Academy’s mission, values, and vision come to life each and every day. Mrs. Dunn’s main responsibilities are overseeing the school’s academic programs and providing support and supervision for the faculty. As a member of the Administration, Kimberly is responsible for contributing to the overall leadership of the school and promoting its values of honesty, kindness, and striving for excellence.
Kimberly noted, “I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of San Antonio Academy, a historic school which recognizes the different learning styles of boys, and its mission to focus on providing an environment to create a foundation just for them. As an administrator and teacher from an independent school, I have always been fascinated with the different gender-specific learning styles and techniques through my experience and training with experts like Dr. Michael Gurian, Dr. Michael Thompson and Dr. Leonard Sax. Another reason I was drawn to San Antonio Academy is because of its motto to ‘Be honest. Be kind. Be the best you can be.’ Judging from the family atmosphere the school encompasses, it’s more than just a catch phrase– it is actionable, and I can’t wait to get into action this school year.”
Kimberly became a Gurian Certified Trainer in June of 2020 and looks forward to bringing the Gurian methodology and materials not only to SAA but to other schools around Texas and the country.
