Theresa Moore

SAN ANTONIO,TEXAS

​Theresa Moore has been a psychotherapist in the San Antonio community for over 35 years. She divides her time between her private practice, Worth the Risk and a school counselor for The San Antonio Academy for Boys. Her focus has always been the growth and well being of individuals, couples and families seeking to improve their lives. Loving intentions are not always enough to produce the desired results in relationships. Therefore, her goal is to help people build on the strengths they have to enhance their personal skills through therapy, education and insight.

In addition Ms. Moore is an educational consultant offering her expertise and experience to help students and their family’s problem solve challenging school situations to maximize a child’s learning. Strategies for classroom management, learning strategies as well social skills are some of the possibilities explored.

Ms. Moore graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in psychology. In 1979 she received her Master’s degree in social work from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. She is also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. Her experience includes relationship issues such as addictions; eating disorders; anxiety and depression; grief and trauma; communication skills as well as life skills. Parenting is the area of family life that is one of Ms. Moore’s passions. A subject most of us grapple with in some way during our lifetime. She conducts lectures, seminars and workshops, therapy for individuals and families as well as young adults and adolescents. She also offers equine assisted leadership and therapy along with nature based coaching. In addition, Ms. Moore has been a contributing author for several publications and has written a workbook for parents currently being revised, titled A Parent’s Mind and a Child’s Heart.
