Yon has over 25 years of experience working in both the private and public sectors providing assistance to a wide range of populations. Working in the mental health arena, Yon has gained valuable knowledge about therapeutic supports that can provide positive impacts and ways to strengthen resilience while building internal capacity for further growth.

Yon has worked in elementary, middle and high schools as a School Social Worker and has spent the last 17 years working as an Alternative Education Teacher. Those experiences along with the Black Lives Matter Movement have shifted his focus towards addressing and changing the systematic racism that has plagued our society with a focus on the system that educates our youth. This is a life long journey but he is prepared to continue the work of an active accomplice in creating fundamental change at both the micro and macro levels.
