I am starting a new venture and need you to join!  As a subscriber in this Gurian Community, you will receive my written work as well as video clips and other material provided multiple times per month directly to you.  My plan right now is to publish my work three weeks of the month, then for the fourth week, to meet with you, my subscribers, in a group format via Zoom.

If you know me already (or if you don’t) I have published 35 books with New York and other publishers over more than 3 decades.  I will publish books again, but for now, I would like to reach my audience directly, through this membership.  I can “go green” this way, and I can write my work in conversation with you, like-minded souls.  For this to work, though, I need you to join me as subscribers.

In this membership, you’ll read nonfiction, fiction, and poetry as separate pieces and also as books (memoir, novel, nonfiction) serialized.  My first serialized work will be my memoir.  It tells a dramatic story that delves into the growth of boys into resilient men, and the complex relationships of mothers and sons, among much else.  During the time I publish the memoir to you, I will also weave other pieces, such as essays and blog posts.  Next year, if I have enough subscribers, I plan to deploy my next novel in serialization, as well.  Again, for all this to work, I need you to subscribe!

One of the themes of importance in my career is sex/gender science, as you know, the fact that boys and girls learn and grow differently, and, thus, they each need targeted help.  Via your subscription, you’ll also receive my next serialized nonfiction book about this, Boys, A Rescue Plan.  Its essays link neuroscience of child development with boys issues to find and realize both essential theory and evidence-based practical strategies.

Whether you read my essays, memoir, stories, novel, or poetry, I hope you will feel yourself speaking your own truth somewhat through me.  This resonance is so important as we will meet in the center of life to find common ground.  The academic idea of our time–that humanity lacks an essence of shared values and goals–is dangerous to our social cohesion and growth.  The center will not hold when we collectively decide to abandon it.  Inundated with social media today, we live in an epidemic of expression that can overwhelm us.  Often, quality writing gives way to quick images and distracting thoughts.  We need quality writing in our lives.  In this membership and this community, I will bring quality writing directly to you.   My work will hold the center, as best I can, and explore outward from there.  If you have been touched by my work in the past, please join this community and let’s cut through the noise together.
