We are proud to announce that our Summer Training Institute is all set for June 26-27, 2021! We hope this is the last time we will need to do either our Winter or Summer Institute via zoom, and yet we have discovered advantages to this format, too. More people from around the world can join, and the keynotes and workshops can be available for your viewing and participation the whole next week. For more information and to register, click: https://gurianinstitute.com/events/gurian-summer-institute-2021/.
While the event is mainly live via zoom on the weekend, everything will be available to registrants through July 3, 2021. This allows your schools and teams to utilize the training on weekdays, as needed. We will also certify new trainers on Monday morning. You can register as an individual on the website or bring groups of five or more at a discount; for group registration, contact gail@gurianinstitute.com. Early Bird Registration ends this Saturday, May 15. We hope you will take advantage of early bird discounts soon!
As you’ll see on the website, we have more than 20 total events you can engage with. While most of them involve K – 12 schooling and age groups, a special feature of this year’s Summer Training Institute is our Early Childhood Track , too. It is set up specifically for early childhood educators, caseworkers, coaches, caregivers, and those interested in seeing how the Gurian work translates into this essential realm of human development. This ECE track is inspired and fulfilled through the Early Childhood Pilots in Phoenix, AZ. In these pilots, the Gurian Institute is working with Head Start, Greater Phoenix Urban League, and the City of Phoenix at school sites in the Cartwright School District (Cartwright, Byron Barry, and Arizona State University Preparatory Academy).
About the GI work in early childhood environments, Marion Hill, Program Director of Head Start, City of Phoenix, and one of our Sunday Keynoters, has said, “We have found Gurian’s work to be the missing piece in early childhood education as so many others have found it to be so in K – 12. The Pilots in Phoenix have been very successful, and we are pleased to be a part of this Early Childhood Track at the Summer Institute.” Of the 12 afternoon workshops over the two days, 4 are specifically target early childhood. All of the keynotes also include work for ECE as well as K – 12. Even if you do not work in the ECE arena, you might still find the ECE workshops fascinating and helpful, especially since you will have seven days to watch everything.
To learn more about all the keynotes, workshops, trainings, and tracks, and to send questions or to register, please click: https://gurianinstitute.com/events/gurian-summer-institute-2021/. We look forward to seeing you soon!
What Other Participants Have Said
“Amazing. Powerful. To see the brain scans and understand differences between the male and female brain is a game-changer in education.”
“The applications of this work in early childhood are stunning. I was especially moved by what is happening with our boys in preschool. No one is at fault, but we must face a systemic issue.”
“The keynotes and workshops on helping children of color were powerful in their own right, and they worked together with the understanding of male/female. Very helpful and needed, especially in our present time.”
“Every year I come back. This is the best conference anywhere for understanding the brains of males and females, and how that understanding can positively change classrooms and communities.”
“Covered each element on the gender spectrum very well. Great tools, great training!”
“I came as a therapist and mother and found myself energized and excited in both areas. This work universally taps into what we are all thinking and feeling every day.”
