Eva Dwight earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Bethany College. After teaching language arts for 12 years, she earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Counseling and worked for 20 years as a junior high counselor in Mesa, Arizona. As a Gurian Certified Trainer she provides training and professional development in schools and school districts regarding how boys and girls learn, as well as effective classroom management.
Eva is skilled in identifying academic and personal challenges that students face, and creating programs that result in improved outcomes. She works tirelessly with teachers to help them envision who a child could be if they work as a team to find the right formula for that child. An important aspect of that formula is encouraging the student to keep trying, and celebrating baby steps toward success.
In addition to her work in the schools, Eva is a Certified Positive Discipline Trainer and an Associate Certified Coach. She has facilitated workshops for hundreds of parents, teaching strategies for growing connection with their children and helping them experience a more joyful family life. She launched her private practice, Creative Coaching Conversations, in 2012, with a focus on parent coaching and personal coaching for adults and teens. She is an active member of the Positive Discipline Association and the International Coach Federation Phoenix Chapter. Her parenting articles appear regularly in the national blog allthemoms.com.
Over the years, Eva has become increasingly concerned about the high rate of disengagement for boys in school. The groundbreaking work that Dr. Gurian is doing to support the learning and parenting needs of both boys and girls must be shared and put into practice, if we are to change the trajectory of our culture! As a trainer for the Gurian Institute, Eva draws on her experience and passion to inspire her audience as she has been inspired, motivating teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to be catalysts for change, so that children who think that they can’t…learn that they can!
