Michael J Barber

Michael J Barber is a Fine and Performing Arts educator and Administrator who believes that schools should be collaborative educational communities with a strong collegial stakeholder cohort. After spending 3 decades as a classroom arts educator in music, theatre and the IB throughout the United States in International, Public and Independent schools, Mr Barber knows what truly drives education, school success and student, parent and stakeholder satisfaction —and it’s not all about the test scores. It’s how you connect with the students, how you support their journey, and how you create educational experiences, as well as how well you communicate within your entire educational community.

Michael has landed coverage in print and broadcast outlets including NPR and NAE, as well as having a small podcast he shares with his daughter. He has published many articles on education, and will appear in the book “Teachers” by James Patterson and Michael Evermanns and as a “citizen scientist” has collected research on the ef ects of society, law and changes in educational theory. In addition to his extensive educational experience, Michael is a trained musician, performer and presenter.

Outside of work, you can find Michael fishing, hiking and spending time with family outdoors whenever possible.
