Tamika Parran

Lanham, Maryland

Mrs. Tamika Parran is the Assistant Principal of Catherine T. Reed Elementary school in Lanham, Md. She graduated from Bowie State University with a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education then went on to receive a Master’s in Curriculum Instruction and Administration from McDaniel College. She has over 21 years of experience in education on the elementary level, from being a classroom teacher to an Instructional Lead Teacher, now in her present position as an administrator. Mrs. Parran has worked diligently over the years to make sure that students are cared for and are given the tools that they need to be successful, that comes from teaching the whole child and making sure that their social emotional needs are met. She sees the need for all those in education to make a more concerted effort to focus on, address and dismantle the school to prison pipeline for our male, black and brown students.
