If you haven’t looked recently at our Products page, we hope you will click https://gurianinstitute.com/products/ and look at the products we offer. One of those is our 4 plus hour Online Course featuring Michael Gurian. You can get more specifics about this course at https://gurianinstitute.com/products/boys-and-girls-learn-differently-online-course/. The course can be used by whole school teams on Professional Development days. A school superintendent who used it with his staff called it “a life-changing PD experience for our schools.” A principal who used it the same way called it, “eye-opening, dynamic, and the perfect fit for forty teachers on our PD day.”
When Michael and the GI team created the course, we did so in order to 1) help educators and others who wanted theory and strategies individually, 2) provide a way for groups of teachers/staff to have a one-day Professional Development experience, and 3) give potential certifying Gurian Institute trainers an online asset as part of their certification. Happily, the course is being used in all these ways, and it is now being used during the Covid crisis, as well–a powerful way to get 6 hours of PD for a school’s or district’s full staff.
If you are looking for resources for your January Professional Development days, we hope you will consider using this Online Course as well as our other services on www.gurianinstitute.com. Our work, like this Course, can be used at any time of the year. Our work is a great fit for both coed and single sex schools, providing in depth understanding and practical strategies to empower the learning and life needs of both boys and girls. Once your organization or school purchases the Course, GI will send a private link to your team leader that allows the course to be projected for the whole room.
The video content of the Course is divided into well-timed clips that align with discussion questions and exercises you are provided with in PDF form for distribution to all the staff, likely via Zoom or other online modality, but if you are back in person, then in the PD room. A leader can help navigate content and lead exercises, or the course can stand alone as long as a leader gives reflection/discussion time. Either way, the course can fill a six to seven hour PD day because all of its content in various modalities.
For PD day groups, we offer a discount price per person that is aligned with the number of participants.
